Tooth crowns or caps are artificial structures that are fitted onto natural teeth. These are usually done post treatment procedures like root canals, or for esthetic purposes like smile makeover. Sometimes there is not enough tooth structure hold the cap in place (in other words, a tooth with inadequate height/volume). This happens due to either tooth fracture or cavities.
In such a case, the gums and bone surrounding the tiny tooth are re- adjusted to a lower level to expose more height of the tooth. Once the tooth gains adequate height, the cap stays longer. The procedure can be done surgically or by lasers. Contact our specialists at Dental Folks to know more.
