Dental Folks is proud to introduce Dental Lasers to its practice‼
Lasers have been a boon to the medical and dental profession. Laser
systems like the Biolase Epic X which we own is the only FDA
approved system available which means that it is absolutely SAFE
Laser light has the ability to reach the most inaccessible areas of the
tooth roots where most instruments and chemicals cannot reach. The
light at a particular wavelength is designed to destroy only bacteria
sterilize the tooth and not harm the healthy tooth tissues. We use
Lasers for Root Canal Treatments, Tooth Whitening, Surgeries, Jaw
pain Relief, ulcer treatment and much more‼
Laser Dentistry is Advanced, Painless, Precise, Minimalistic, Promotes
Faster Healing and Enables Bloodless Surgery‼
Our dental practice has two dental chairs.
Convenient seating with broad backrest
Additional assistant arm
Port X is a hand held dental X ray device that is approved by the AERB (Atomic Energy Regulatory Board). It is compact, lightweight device, which emits x rays to capture images of teeth, jawbone and other hard tissue structures. Compared to conventional X ray unit, Port X emits minimal radiation thus assuring patient safety.
Digital intra oral sensor is a device that enables X rays to be taken digitally thereby reducing the amount of radiation received by the patient. It has a small sensor which can be conveniently placed into the patient’s mouth and the X ray image can processed immediately on the computer monitor. This system is also called as RVG (Radiovisuography).
At Dental Folks, we follow a four-step sterilization protocol, instruments are washed under running water, scrubbed, soaked in an antibacterial solution and then dried before sealing them into sterilization pouches. The pouches are then sealed using a heat sealing machine and then steam sterilized at 121 degree C for one hour using an Class B Autoclave (Steam Sterilizer). The pouches are then stored in a UV chamber to maintain their sterility.
Water distiller is a device, which is used to generate pure distilled water for use in the various equipments in dentistry. Distilled water is produced in our clinic using a countertop water distiller and is primarily filled into our autoclave (steam based instrument sterilizer) and dental chair units. The benefits of using distilled water include preventing buildup of bacteria in the dental water lines. This not only increases the longevity of our devices but also ensures patient safety.
In todays age, there has been a growing incidence of threats by various microbial diseases hence In- clinic sterilization is crucial. At Dental Folks, you can be sure that each instrument used undergoes a vigorous sterilization protocol. Not only instruments, even materials like cotton, gauze, drills and plastic items are thoroughly sterilized.
The following “4 tier” sterilization protocol is followed in our clinic that not only ensures patient safety but also increases the success rate of the dental treatment.
The Autoclave is a device, which is used to sterilize instruments and materials. There are various classes amongst Autoclaves like Class N and Class B and Class S
Class N autoclaves are the non-vacuum types that can be used to sterilize only wrapped items, and often tend to miss out on sterilizing the air pockets of porous hollow instruments.
We at Dental Folks have a Class B autoclave that is of vacuum type and can sterilize all forms of equipments placed be it wrapped or unwrapped. The device functions on the principle of sterilization under heat (121 degree Celsius) and a set amount of pressure.
Once instruments are pouched and autoclaved, they are placed inside a UV chamber maintaining their sterility.
Tooth coloured fillings are the current norm in modern dental practice. The filling involves a very minimalistic preparation of the tooth, placement of the soft pliable filling material into the cavity and setting the soft mass into a hard material using blue light. This procedure of “curing”/ hardening the filling material is done by the use of a LED Light curing device. At Dental Folks we use the Best in Class Curing Light with proven efficacy and safety.
Dentistry has evolved greatly in the past years. Previously dentists used to rely exclusively on X rays during root canal treatment to measure the length of the tooth. But current trends are towards the use of “Apex Locators” which are electronic instruments to measure the root canal length, enabling us to subject the patient to as low X ray radiation as possible. This makes the entire root canal procedure faster, safer and precise. At Dental Folks, we use the best and most accurate devices available for digitally measuring
the length of the tooth without the need for taking multiple x rays.
Root canal treatment can be accomplished using two techniques- Manual and Rotary.
The manual technique is time consuming, and tedious while the rotary technique gives a consistently better tooth preparation in a shorter span of time. The device used for rotary root canal treatment is called an “Endomotor” which can accept a series of small drills, which are mechanically operated into the root canal. The rotary method is used universally by majority of root canal specialists (Endodontists).
Oral Health begins with gum health. Healthy gums are a great foundation to healthy teeth. Scaling or tooth cleaning is a procedure which is used to remove dirt, debris, deposits and stains from teeth during tooth cleaning). The scaling device uses ultrasonic energy to vibrate the dirt particles without damaging the tooth structure. Scaling is recommended once in 6 months and helps to keep your pearly whites clean and strong‼
